In the summer of 1974, seating only 72 in the dining room, we created one of those great little restaurants you wish no one else knew about. Four other operators had attempted restaurants at the location before we moved in. Because of its success, reputation and popularity, we expanded our dining facilities in the summer of 1980 and added a spectacular two-level lounge that opens onto an intimate garden patio when the season permits.

In 1971, a marvelous old train station in Beverly, Massachusetts, went on the market. With imagination and hard work, the Beverly Depot Restaurant and Saloon became the talk of the town. Maintaining much of the original structure, the dining room has an enormous curved brick wall at one end, which houses a large working fireplace. Although the depot building no longer houses the ticket counters, it is still the Beverly stop on the Boston and Maine Railroad, bringing people from all over the greater Boston area to dine with us.

The Fish
Box Derby Race is a family event that is held in early September. This
was established by a non-profit organization - Fish Box Derby, Inc.
whose purpose it is to provide the local youth with the opportunity to
build and strengthen family relations. Boys and Girls from ages eight to
fourteen are eligible to enter (there are no fees to enter). The young
people work side by side with their parents, grandparents, guardians or
neighbors to build their own car and participate in the race. The cars
reflect each individual style and mechanical abilities.
