Bart lives by the sea in Gloucester, MA. He started his career as a dancer and choreographer in the Netherlands. His groundbreaking avant garde company was called MultiMedia. He continues to work in many media: copper, soapstone, wood and even recycled Styrofoam. All of his work reflects both his interest in movement and his whimsical sense of humor.
Sigrid has developed a very unique printing technique over the last 2 decades. Starting with stamps cut from a potato and now using rubber blocks to carve her designs, she has created hundreds of shapes...birds, leaves, flowers, fish and more that have become her signature art. These motifs have appeared on everything from tee shirts to duvet covers. It is fascinating to see the development of her textile designs from the art she produces in her studio.
Throughout its 75+ year history, the Gruppé Gallery has served as a studio and gallery as well as the Gloucester School of Painting where over 7,000 painters studied. Today, Emile’s son Robert paints here and maintains a gallery for his own work as well as that of his father. We invite you to visit this historic studio and enjoy both the delightful ambience and the fine art available.

The Fish
Box Derby Race is a family event that is held in early September. This
was established by a non-profit organization - Fish Box Derby, Inc.
whose purpose it is to provide the local youth with the opportunity to
build and strengthen family relations. Boys and Girls from ages eight to
fourteen are eligible to enter (there are no fees to enter). The young
people work side by side with their parents, grandparents, guardians or
neighbors to build their own car and participate in the race. The cars
reflect each individual style and mechanical abilities.
